Natural Surf Lodge — Surf Camp Accommodation in Soustons, South-West France

Outside of school breaks, we primarily welcome adults between the ages of 20 and 40, even though you can try surfing well beyond this “golden age”! Our guests come from a variety of countries, some far away (Canada, Russia), but the vast majority are French-speaking (Belgians, Swiss, and French). Most guests come on their own or with friends, and we have two private bungalows to accommodate couples (with one or two children or a baby. Note for new parents: we offer friendly and competent babysitters).

During school breaks, we host one or two families plus individual guests (about 8 people) and also welcome a small group of teens without their parents (6 teens aged 12 to 14) who are completely independent from the rest of the group. Living together is very enriching and takes place with respect for everyone’s individual pace.

At the Lodge: The spacious common room features a kitchen with multiple burners and countertops. The griddle is available for use. Each guest chooses a shelf in the refrigerator and a shelf in the pantry that matches the colors of their room (Purple, Red, Pink, Blue, Orange, and Green) at the beginning of their stay.

In the rental units: each kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare and cook meals.

The continental breakfast included in the surf camp packages consists of organic and locally sourced foods. It is prepared every morning one hour before the surf lesson begins.

Other meals are self-catered; the fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. For those without a car, we organize two shuttle trips per week for grocery shopping (Mondays and Thursdays). You can also bike to the village grocery store, 5 km away—it’s a very pleasant ride. The plancha night (on Tuesdays) is a fun, social gathering where everyone prepares something to eat based on their own inspiration, cultural background, and culinary skills… Claire takes care of dessert—usually a clafoutis and a Basque cake—and Stéphane handles the after-dinner drink!

You can also order takeout meals from Les Roseaux, a must-visit, historic restaurant that’s been in business for four generations. Chef Christophe offers a set menu for 15 euros (appetizer, main course, dessert, and wine), with a vegetarian option available upon request.

Fibre broadband is available and a small workspace is set up. That said, the Lodge actively encourages digital detox — phones down, ocean up. For a proper remote working stay, Villa Baïna in Seignosse (500 m from the beach, private apartment) is a better fit.
