1- People

No matter your age, whether you come alone, as a couple or with friends, the Natural Surf Lodge is a place for encounters, sometimes unexpected ones, where everyone quickly feels “at home” while on vacation.
Let yourself be surprised by surfing. Come with open minded and no expectations other than to experience the ocean through a physical activity that takes place in the great outdoors, in the literal sense of the term, and is truly incomparable.

2 – Atmosphere

Both relaxing and sporty, the atmosphere at the Lodge strikes a perfect balance between “timeless” moments, conducive and passionate after surf conversations and the present moment (while surfing), which requires constant attention or else you’ll be immediately called to order by a gentle fall, a sand shampoo, a quick washing machine…
A change of scenery is guaranteed from Sunday evening first aperitif helps to built bonds among the Lodgers. Conversations deepen with the Tuesday brasero and the week often ends with a group outing to enjoy the sunset at the Natural Surf School, in le Penon food court to eat and enjoy a themed dance and music evening, or at one of the trendy spots of the moment, often with the team who knows where to take you to end your surfing week on a festive note.
Saturday morning is a delicate moment that signs the end of the stay, the dispersal of the group, and the ocean “aurevoir” as everyone returns to their daily lives. Some see each other again outside the “surf Lodge bubble” and often come back. We are fortunate to have a friendly and loyal clientele who does us great honor by returning year after year. We would like to thank them all, as it’s the ultimate guarantee of quality services and relationships.

3 – Always here for you !

Since the opening in 2003, we have never canceled your surf trip. Obviously, during the summer season, we could accommodate twice as many people, whereas in the off-season, groups generally range from sometimes 2 to 10 people. In any case, the atmosphere is different but just as enjoyable:
Off-season surfing is an opportunity to spend more time with the team, who are less busy, and enjoy the tranquility of the surf spots, evenings by the fire place, and well-deserved crepes and hot chocolate after an intense but ultimately rewarding surf session.
Summer surfing, when the Lodge is fully booked (15 people), the magic of the group takes over, and the team focus on surfing lessons and fluid organization. Strong bonds can be formed between locals and visiting surfers (we have many beautiful examples with lovely couples followed by a babies or not, bunch of Lodge friends. These encounters are so enriching for us who are part of the local surfing community, which can sometimes be a bit narrow-minded. It’s a real bonus of the surf camp atmosphere.

The Natural Surf Lodge provides an exceptional natural and human environment by :
– its location between Casernes beach, the pine forest, and the lakes (Hardy, Étang Noir, and Étang Blanc),
– its unique and historic site, a typical Landes airial, a 4.500 m² park adorned with century-old oak trees and colorful camellias
– the surf culture that permeates the place
– and the relaxed atmosphere conducive to exchanges and meeting people.

The Natural Surf Lodge marks the beginning of a great family adventure combining surfing and accommodation. The first surf camp in the Landes region in 2003, the Lodge is open from spring to fall and offers surfing trips for people who need a break in nature and an active lifestyle. Dedicated to persons who have a strong connexion with water and the great outdoors, or who want to challenge themselves in the ocean to overcome a fear of water or push themselves physically.

It is also a “cocoon”, enabling to create bonds or renforce them, offering a multitude of spaces allowing to take a “step back” for a moment of solitude or to join the small surfing community of the Lodge.
The surf is the link to stay connected to the group while respecting your own pace.

Outside of school holidays

The Lodge is more suited to:

• solo travelers,
• people looking for introspective intimacy and personal development,
• or more in an open mood, ready to meet people from all walks of life,
• longing for a break from a daily routine that leaves little room for their individuality,
• people questioning their career path.
• couples “children free” or moms and dads who need to escape their daily parental routine.
• The alternation between dynamic activities (surf lessons) and moments of relaxation (reading in the tree house, jacuzzi, massage, yoga, forest walks, and Feel Good Morning) allows you to find a beautiful balance that is healthy for both body and mind.

During school holidays

The Lodge transforms into an open intergenerational space:

• Families of all kinds, whether traditional, blended, single parents, young parents,
• Teachers,
• Young children (aged 6 and up),
• Teenagers, with or without their parents,
• Those who do not have a choice about their vacations.

In any case, even during school holidays, everyone gets something out of it because respect is a core value of a stay at Natural Surf Lodge. The vastness of the site and the diversity of facilities such as the skate park, jacuzzi, yoga area, and tree house allow for harmonious cohabitation. Once again, the surfing experience, which is at the heart of discussions, encourages exchanges between generations. Everyone progresses at their own pace and enjoys a great vacation.
